Hi it has been SOOO LOONG! I'm currently wearing my newly bought Paul Frank pajamas and it's SUPER NICE, FLUFFY AND COMFORTABLE! I should have bought like another set so that I can get that Julius heart plush thing for FREE. Idk if they accept multiple receipts, which I think they don't..
Since I have nothing to do and I'm kind of bored with Audi already, I shall post from day 1 to day um 4(?) of orientation and today! Hehe~ :D
31st January 2012, TuesdayReached NJC and was horrified cos I saw no green. TK's uniform is SO STRIKING that you can just spot any TKGian anywhere, so I was quite scared, until I saw 2 green people! I wasn't really close to them, in fact I don't really like one of them, but I didn't know anybody else who got posted to NJ, so I hanged around with them until we were ushered into the hall.
While being scared and all suddenly I catch a few more glimpses of... GREEN! They were all scholars, and one of them is Kaidi YAYE SOMEONE FROM 4/7! I didn't know De Li was sitting behind me and she gave me quite a shock. She was from 4/6 and I didn't know her very well so we didn't talk a lot.
Btw she's in the same OG as me YAYE! :D
I think on that day the whole school except the mainstream SH1 students had their assembly at the parade square. OH AND I HAVE TO SHARE THIS, I WAS SO AMAZED WHEN I SAW THIS. NJ doesn't play their national anthem and their school songs through the PA, they literally have a band to play it, which is why on that day we had no music and the OGL said
'Let us sing the national anthem and school song, a cappella'
So we had a lot and a lot and a lot of talks. I fell asleep on the last talk which is the H2 and H1 geography talk.. De Li nudged me once, I hanged on for about 10s before I went back to sleep again. But besides that I DID listen to the other talks, and NJ happens to offer a lot of very weird subjects, like this English language and linguistics, which teaches you to analyse grammar, English words and their formation and teaches you the history of English. It does sound a bit like English lit..
I suck at memorising names, which is why I was pretty much owned at whacko on that day.
Btw I'm in Strenua/Solaris. Strenua is the clan name for the orientation and Solaris is the actual house name in NJ. YELLOW! WHEE!

I think we also had school tour on that day, and I THINK I can remember where all the places are EXCEPT the TA - TG blocks. Idk why are they called TA TB TC TD .. .. TG blocks, okay maybe except TG block cos TG is the new one right? Wait no, wait. Idk! HAHA.
Also took the AI[M]S programme selection test, I think I'll fail la LOL, the questions they asked are like, maths olympiad kind of questions.. I don't think I'll want to go AIM[S] one, which is the science one. I'll probably die.
NJ actually have a student lounge with POOL TABLES and board games for you and your friends to come down and play. That's like, awesome! It's like there's a vast difference between TK and NJ. :x And NJ actually has this machine like thing which SCANS YOUR FINGERPRINT to take your daily attendance. LIKE WHAAAAAT?! I was like damn amazed when my OGLs showed my OG the machines, I MEAN HOW COOL IS THAT?!
*beep*
But then if you're late by 1 millisecond you'll still be considered late..
Okay so that's pretty much of day 1.
I must finish this before 12 cos I need to wake up early tomorrow for piano~
1st February 2012, WednesdayHad the code of conduct talk and it is extremely loooooooooooooooooooooooong. Apparently she kept talking about the school uniform.. :/
Had OG session and we played H2O, which is quite fun and not fun cos the space was small and we didn't have a lot of space to run about, and murderer. I was the last murderer standing muahaha~ And this version of murderer actually have a story which there's a narrator who will narrate the story, which is quite cool compared to the old version of just blinking/squeezing hand/idk what else HAHA.
Had lunch and went for subject combination registration. In case you're wondering I'm taking PCME, and hopefully I wouldn't regret it cos I wanted to study geog instead of econs. But then econs open more doors in uni compared to geog, which doesn't really open any door.. :/
Had CCA showcase and songs and cheering sessions. NJ's cheers are quite cool, especially the combined clan cheer. It really does cultivate school spirit, HAHA, and it isn't long
like TK philosophy. No actually 'glory glory NJ''s beat is exactly the same as TK philosophy just that the words are easier to remember. We also learnt NJ's school songs, both the Malay and English version. The Malay one is really really really hard to learn and the tune is quite hard to remember.. Btw I've already memorised the English one cos it's easy! HAHA.
Then we had mass dance session 1, which turned out to be kind of disatrous cos me and Kai Jie couldn't remember the steps. Btw his hands were like ICE COLD like he just placed them in the freezer or something! :0 But I actually went home and learnt the dance moves by myself through YouTube LOL I am so hardworking. If only I'm like this for my academics..
[[ click here ]]OH AND BTW, I QUEUED UP FOR IDK HOW LONG AND I BOUGHT 0 BLOUSE and 0 SKIRTS, and I even had to go to Bibi and Baba at Shaw to buy it cos I didn't want to go to school in TK's uniform.. I should have bought 3 M sized skirts on that day lor URGH.
2nd February 2012, ThursdayDid students' needs survey at LT5, which according to the OGLs 'the best place ever to have your lectures', cos the seats are soft and comfortable and if the aircon is switched on it'll be like heaven. LOL. The survey was quite weird but I still did it nonetheless..
Had CCA showcase again before having house sessions. I think Solaris is actually quite bonded, just that we have quite um over-enthusiastic people haha. Learnt some of Solaris's cheers and the house shirts actually look kind of cool. I like the cheers too! :D I think I like Solaris. :D
Played station games and basically to summarise
1. I GOT FREAKING DRENCHED. About 40% of the stations you'll confirm get wet one.
2. OG17 is probably the OG with least integrity :x
So there's this game which says that 'if you don't get into the box you'll get splashed', but that apparently wasn't true cos whatever you do you'll also get splashed, no wonder the other OGs were like 'JUST RUN, DO ANYTHING'.
All my sizes for the uniform were sold out in less than 1 hour.
So that's pretty much of day 3. :D
3rd February 2012, ThursdayHad some research program talk in the morning. See I told you NJ offers like a lot of stuffs for the students. I don't really understand and know what research is all about, but it does sound cool and all, and there's like a LIST of universities locally or overseas which you can join in their research programme. Idk if I should go or if I'll even have the time, plus I'm not even sure what the whole thing is about..
Then we had the aesthetics talk, which is what as the name suggests. I guess I'll have to start watching more musicals and artsy stuff cos the HOD actually gave all of us a portfolio to fill in what kind of arts programme we have attended over the span of 2 years.. :/
And from that talk we can clearly see the difference between a science teacher and an arts teacher..
CCA showcase 3 was rather interesting, I'm actually kind of interested in floorball and shooting LOL. My sis is dissuading me to join shooting by describing her painful experience on trying to carry the gun(?) on her shouler which kind of strained her shoulder.. :0
Then we had mass dance session 2, when we learnt the apparently 'most complicated part' of the dance for Down, which is the rap part and a new dance which we danced along to Summer Nights. It is WAY easier and cuter as compared to Down one and honestly speaking I wouldn't mind dancing to Summer Nights 1000 times! HAHAHA. And me and Kai Jie could follow up so that's good! :D
Had Showdown briefing before having the actual Showdown at the field. Basically Showdown is like the enlarged version of table soccer, you're not supposed to let the opposite house to get across by blocking them. Solaris played against Aqua, and as much as I tried enjoying it, I couldn't.. Some of the them were actually quite mean and there's this super rough guy who doesn't even care about anybody. When it was Solaris's turn to attack the super rough guy broke the rules by stepping out of the lines to SQUASH our cups (btw the cups were filled with either water or items which we were supposed to transport over to the other side) or to even like push some of us. The pushing part was okay, but he went a bit too far by causing somebody from my OG to sprain her ankle and he even made me injure my ankle (it was NEARLY SPRAINED) Now walking is actually kind of painful..
And the best thing is he just pretends nothing happened and didn't even apologise. Best.

Ok Showdown was so horrible that
1. Someone dislocated his/her shoulder
2. An OGL got STEPPED ON
So the head OGL(?) was kind of angry with us so that day didn't end off very well..
Somehow I think the Ignis Terra match was kind of peaceful compared to ours and Lignum Aerius one. Lol..
But thanks to that I woke up with my whole body aching.. HAHA. But it's okay, it should be gone by tomorrow/Monday, I think.
Btw wanted to buy my school uniform but the vendor's GONE. Wth.
And that's day 4, which isn't really a good day.
4th February 2012, SaturdayToday I didn't really do much. I have no homework or whatsoever, so practiced one song ONCE and read TinTin. The story I read was kind of boring, so I stopped when I reached the end. Played Audi. Killed time by Idk doing what, I don't remember doing anything significant today. Went out at around 3 to go to Orchard to buy my school uniform and to my UTMOST HORROR.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! And if you haven't realised ALL of the skirt sizes are sold out.. I went all the way there and this is what I get?! Seriously this time how am I supposed to survive one week with one skirt..?! And as far as I know they will come to NJ on Monday to sell uniforms, which is dumb because all the mainstream SH1 will be having external hunt at Sentosa and there'll be nobody buying from them. PLUS the store owner said that there'll be stock at SCHOOL BUT NOT IN THE SHOP ITSELF, meaning they'll have stock in NJ but there wouldn't be stock in the Bibi and Baba shop itself. WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE IS THIS?! IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
Buying a piece of clothing has never been this hard and irritating before in my life.
So while waiting for my dad I went to shop around Far East. GUESS WHAT, I bought the wrong size for the shorts, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!?! Why was I so blur! ;___; My proudest buy was the pair of wedges and now I have a decent pair of 'go to shopping shoes'. I should buy more wedges next time! :D
I'm buying contact lens tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to wear and remove them properly.. Okay I'm kind of scared now but but but.. I don't want to wear specs in school.. Haiz, now in a co-ed school I'm starting to get more self conscious, like seriously. I can't sit how I used to sit in TK, NOT THAT I SIT NOT DEMURELY WHILE IN TK, but you know..
It might even take some time to adjust myself to a co-ed environment. It still feels kind of weird seeing guys in MY school. :0
Okay I got to turn in now! Piano tomorrow! Um I think I'll post weekly or something, after all people like to read a super super extremely long post like this one compared to a super short post right? I think. HAHA.
Wow I just realised how long this post is, it's probably the longest post in my blogging history. :0
